Re: sunday 19 th
So how did it go Pete?
The day started lovely and bright, albeit a bit cold. Had a Motorcycle control course (slow riding) on at the Police training college in Maidestone (or so I thought). Left Surrey in Spring conditions, get over the county line into Kent and it turns to winter. A few miles later, bike splutters - Oh no it can't be that cold, only have a thin t-shirt under the leather jacket - sure enough carb icing
No one at the course (later worked out I was 24 hours too late ), decide to go to Rye. By now the heated grips are on, I'm rather cold and is still spluttering. It's even colder in Rye, so probably best I go home, about 10 miles from home the cloud clears and Spring is back! I do hope I haven't missed summer
Couldn't fully appreciate the lovely twisties due to damp eyes, so consoled myself by practising some speed control and trying not to use the brakes. Bike's been put back under cover, dirty and hungry, for another week - maybe the weather will be better then? 240 km's, even in these conditions is better than none.
