Gurnigel, Switzerland
Well, I was the only Thundercat amongst 56 Hondas (hell, I was the only Yamaha too) when I attended the Honda CB1100R International Meet in Gurnigel, Switzerland.
The Cat behaved impeccably for all 5 days and in all weathers - believe me it absolutely tipped down at some points. She toured very nicely and took tank bag and throw-overs really well. I would have to say that it is a perfect long distance bike IMO. Some of my mates from the 1100R Club were rather taken with her all told.
Some of those mountain twisties made for breathtaking riding… and the Cat was a far easier proposition to rip about compared to the big old Rs, although a lot of us had mixture problems the higher up we went (1900m above sea level at some points).
Initially the Cat was my solution to getting to this trip whilst my R was being rebuilt… but as she did so damned well she has become a bit of a keeper I reckon.
Hope you enjoy the pics?
You can just see a silver nose poking out here!
