WOW!!!
Well, had the Cat for a year now and though I don't do many miles I have a lot more confidence and of course with that comes a (little) bit more speed.
Just come back from a ride-out with my Ninja Pal and I definitely shift through the gears more this year and boy doesn't she sing.
Personally I couldn't have wished for a better bike after 23 years away, are newer 600 bikes that much better than a Cat?

I've always been a bit scared to find out My 'Cats have always been better than me, so maybe the newer ones are better in some respects however I doubt it for what I want from a bike.

Re: WOW!!!
I've had a cat and now have a 650 Daytona which I think is awesome and definitely handles better than the cat, a bit nippier too.
Just had a CBR rr 600 as a loan bike and it's lovely to ride, nippy and the gears are just heavenly but my wrists & elbows were knackered after only a few miles.
The cat built my confidence and is a great all round bike but I'm pleased with the progression I've made.

Re: WOW!!!
Better no, newer yes.
I'll admit I'm 100% blinkered but that's just the way I see it.
On the road the only thing a 'newer' bike might be able to do is get to silly speeds a little bit quicker.
As well as occasionally p155ing oil my bike has p155ed over a lot of newer bikes. I even overtook Terry Lees once
Keep enjoying it.
Cheers

Re: WOW!!!
If the summer kicks in I might join in.
As to the cat. I ebayed a lucky catch. I didnt know what I would be getting but fortunately picked a good one. Bike that is.
Reminicing from my 2 stroke days, I didn't think 4 strokes could perform as well. (CG125!) but I was wrong. My cat, yoda, puts a smile on my face evety time I ride.
