Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat in blue (real showroom condition)
Hi Folks,
I have had to re-register as I could not remember my original password and username so please don't think that I am just using the forum to try to sell the bike.
For sale is my showroom condition Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat sports tourer, Year 2005.
I am offering the bike here first as I really want it to go to someone who will treat it like I have myself and enjoy the bike.
The bike comes in standard Yamaha electric blue. I have owned the bike since new and have only covered 3696 miles. I have all MOT's, licence and services at hand.
The oil and filter has been changed and the bike is licensed until October.
The bike is fitted with datatag and has been garaged and covered since new.
This is an ideal bike for touring or just a quick run and very comfortable to ride as you will know.
This bike really is in showroom condition without any marks, scratches and dents.
You really wouldn't buy a better bike coming out of the showroom and this really does look like a brand new bike.
I am selling the bike as I just don't get time to use it and feel that it should be used more.
The bike has been used dry use and in the summer only.
I am not open to offers as I feel the price asked is very reasonable for what you are getting.
The bike is sitting on the original tyres which have loads of tread and show you how it has been driven.
This bike is my pride and joy and has been treated with kit gloves. The photos posted have been taken today.
This bike is totally original with no modifications done.
Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
£3000

Thought they stopped production of these bikes in the UK in 2003, is this therefore a USA import??
Very tidy anyway, what sort of price are you looking for?

Well, they were never produced in the UK. They were made in Japan and then exported to wherever. You're right that they were not sold as new in Europe after 2003 thanks to new emissions regulations killing them off, but they continued to be made in Japan and sold in other places, mostly the USA. Given that it doesn't say "Thundercat" on it, I'd guess you're right. These US imports were sold in the UK for a while after 2003.
Still, a cracking bike in fantastic condition. Just need a price!

Re: Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat in blue (real showroom condition)
Hi Guys
Sorry forgot the important part and that was the price £3,000. Now amended.
Thats my father in law in the background. hasnt driver a bike since the war i would have thought but likes to have a seat on it and dream
The bike would have been destined for USA but was sourced by a Uk Yamaha dealer for me. Exactly the same spec as UK bike.
I had one in 1997 (black and gun metal), sold it after about 4 years and bought a ZZR 600 but didnt like that and wanted back to a Thunder cat. Hence why that one sourced.
Just cant beat the comfort and smooth engine for me.
Thanks for the comments guys. Will be sad if she goes but just not driving it enough as cant get the time. Im also to fussy and every time she goes out i have to take it back and spend time cleaning it. If its not immaculate im not happy.
If she doesnt go then i may just stick it in a bubble for when i do get more time to ride her.

Re: Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat in blue (real showroom condition)
I agree with Mark, if the bike is in such fantastic condition then prepare it do long term storage, wrap it up and forget about it for a few years. The bike is a bit of a cult favourite now and is sure to become a future classic, put it toward your pension fund, the government won't help you

Re: Yamaha YZF600 Thundercat in blue (real showroom condition)
For a bike in that condition it's a real bargain, the way it's been looked after and the mileage you're getting a bike the equivalent of 12 months old, I still say keep it if you don't need to sell it.TomCom wrote:3000 WOW that a big price

Hi Guys
I am sorry i have not been on but was on holiday for a couple of weeks.
The bike is still for sale.
I had taken a deposit on it just prior to holidays but the buyer had to pull out due to a serious family illness.

I am offering the bike here first as I really want it to go to someone who will treat it like I have myself.
Don't sell it to me or Rosco then, he'll neglect to clean it and put miles on it, I'll do the same but break the gearbox
But seriously, NICE bike and worth the money

Well Mr Nutt! Heaven forbid someone buys an immaculate bike and then having owned it for less than a few days, bends it!
