Bike news.
Awaiting the Assesors verdict & the estimate from the local Triumph dealer...
The hire bike is a CBR rr 600 which is great fun, being a Honda has excellent gears, but makes my wrists & elbows ache after a few miles so I shan't be having one!

Re: Bike news.
No lol, my bike was knocked over last week (total accident) and caused quite a bit of damage. Unbelievably nearly £3000 worth of damage!!
Re: Bike news.
Pretty cool cat to say you've had such bad news!! I gather that it was the Speed, where have you taken it, Chesterfield?

Re: Bike news.
Ouch, Ellie! That's quite a bill. I hope you're sorted soon.
To give a bit of perspective the bill for my off last year was 5.5k. Apparently the bodywork can only be grown from finest native Italian black truffle tended by virgin Nuns at one particular 13thC monastery in the Alps. So what's Triumph's excuse?

Re: Bike news.
My bikes not worth 5.5k and I'm not sure if my bikes ever had any virgin nuns near it but I did say a few hail Mary's when it was dropped!greencat wrote:Ouch, Ellie! That's quite a bill. I hope you're sorted soon.

The swing arm alone is £600. Strangely, labours only £200.
Just awaiting the verdict of the almighty assesor.

Re: Bike news.
Bloody hell Ellie, that's pants When I saw that there had been a wee 'incident' at the park up, I'd know idea that it was gonna be THAT expensive to fix.... gutted for you :(
Hope you get it all sorted out soon and get your bike back, especially after having got it looking so good. Fingers crossed it can be rebuilt and you'll be out having fun on the yellow peril again soon

Re: Bike news.
Thanks Fi, Gutted is the word but I know the young lady that did it is equally gutted that it happened.
I have two dilemas really, do I want it mending when it wasnt my fault it was damaged, if its mended I will be without a bike for several weeks.
If they pay me out I then have to decide all over again which bike I want and then look for one.
If we decide to mend it then I shall be doing lots of 'sucking up' to Nick Its a good bike with only 10k on the clock and new tyres, and I'm just getting used to it and enjoying riding it and building my confidence.
We'll wait and see what Mr Assesor says I think and what they offer us.
I must admit I was shocked at how expensive some of the parts are.
And on the subject of the bike, I'd love a Z1000 but they're still a bit pricey.

Because I test rode one and found it boring. I ride Nicks Speed frequently and much prefer it but I loved the Z when I test rode it, Great fun.
Re: Bike news.
Spose next to a ST, it may seem boring because of the lack of grunt. Still, a tidy handler in the bends. So kwak it is then!!

Im sure it is and an excellent first bike if someones new to biking and needs to build confidence.
But I know I'd be bored within a week or two, the Speeds just so easy to ride.

Re: Bike news.
Tweeties been written off and we've bought him back and Nicks gonna tweak Tweetie.
Apparently being the third party claimant we had no choice but to buy it back!
Be back on two wheels soon!!
