New Bike Garage Nearly Built
Just a quick update on a recent discussion regarding storage for my bike, had a word with the firm employed to rebuild my garden wall and a bit of chat and few brews & burgers later persuaded them to throw me up a new house for my bike, story so far it's going to be 12' x 6' (internal dimensions), persuaded a neighbour (and accomplished iron worker) o make me a door and called in a favour off on of my customers who is throwing in a corrugated steel roof.

Re: New Bike Garage Nearly Built
Well done, not that I'm envious or anything. Mine has to contend with being parked next to a bicycle lock-up, living under a cover and has a grumpy Honda 125 as a friend
Hopefully you'll show us the after pics too

Mine has to content its self with a 8'x6' shed. Nothing as luxurious as yours will be.

Re: New Bike Garage Nearly Built
Thanks Tom with reference to the cost, have you ever heard the saying "it's not what you know but who you know"?TomCom wrote:what about full costs?
In essence the whole thing has cost me 8 cups of coffee and a beef burger.
Brickwork is finished now and it looks MAHOOSIVE!! Joiner is coming next Wednesday to do the skeleton for the roof then I'm collecting the roof panels (free) from a customer next week.
Then I've just gotta wait for friend 3 to construct the steel door with wood panelling and my electrician friend to power it up.
It could cost me in excess of £60 by the time it's finished but that's just because I've called in a lot of favours. Plus I've done a lot o the leg work myself, digging footings etc but to pay for it all would probably cost in excess of £1500 to do from scratch, I'm really pretty lucky

Re: New Bike Garage Nearly Built
There are plenty of people on the forum who live up in Scotland and I'm sure anyone would gladly help you anyway they could but the people helping me with this are just friends of mine, nothing to do with the forum.TomCom wrote::( i am not , i like this forum but i am sad couse most of people are away from me and no one really can help me with anythingSnowcat wrote:... I'm sure you've got friends who live near you who you can rely on for help with things. If I lived up there I'd help you but not with building things as
No good at that
