Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Just picked up my first thundercat and i am loving the bike so far but have a few issues that i though you good people may be able to help me with.
1.) I want to replace the headlight and sidelight bulb with an osram night rider and white LED sidelight bulb, How do i get to the sidelight bulb?
2.) None of my display lights up at night? Could all the bulbs have blown? How many and what type are the before i start stripping it down. Maybe a blown fuse?
3.)How do you cope with the attention from the ladies when you have such a good looking bike?

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
It is more than likely that the dash lights have all gone - I replaced all four of mine last weekend. You can do it without too much dismantling but it is easier to just whip off all the 'inner' panels from the cockpit and take the screen off - give you good access to the headlight too.
However, an LED sidelight may not work well as the bulb points straight up - you need a bulb that shines out sideways.

Thanks for such a fast reply.
What bulbs are fitted to the dash? 501s?
I was thinking of fitting this as the main sidelight bulb http://www.ultra-leds.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/u50113w.jpg

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Welcome to the forum mate. What a cracking looking bike there mate. I reckon you'd get plenty of attention from the lads as well as the lassies with that fine steed
In response to your Q's.
1. I wouldn't bother changing the sidelight bulb as per above.
2. Check this thread - all you need to know about the dash bulbs is here.
3. Easy - ask them if they want a ride
Mapman.

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Brave man, given the tax dodging Cadbury have been getting up to.
Forby that, it's a really tidy looking bike you snagged yourself (I'm a wee bit jealous).

Oh yeah baby - The BourneVille Identity.
After the disaster that was the chocolate teapot Mr Cadbury finally got something right.
Thundercat and chocolate - my two favourite things.
Lovely bike you've got yourself there.
Almost good enough to eat
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Ian,
Nice Bike
As mentioned above, have a look in the Workshop, pitstop area. You'll find a wealth of info about all sorts of solutions to probs there, including your lighting Qs.
We have a bit of a bash going on this weekend if you have the time. Pop along and say hello personally like. You'll get a warm welcome
Cheers

Ohh, nice looking bike! Set off perfectly against a field of rape.
A chocolate motorcycle - who'd have thought!
Welcome to the site. Hope you get answers to all your questions - you should do.
There's a ride over to Scarborough planned for the start of June. Post up if you want to join us and we can see the bike for real.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Hi, welcome. Lovely looking glass and a half you have there.
I'd check with an MOT station regarding the side light, as useless as it seems it is a requirement and I think there might be some rules about it, at least that what my mechy told me when I was toying with the idea of going LED.

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Hi there and welcome to the forum. It's an interesting looking bike you've got yourself there, is it from Halifax by any chance. I saw it on Ebay and it seemed to be a bit marmite, i.e. not everyone was set on the finish. I know it'd been re-advertised a couple of times so I assume it was a right steal
Best of luck with her and I hope you stick around and maybe join in on a ride out in the future, would love to see it in the flesh.
Plus you're only up the road in Leeds so be happy to meet up some time and go for a spin.

Re: Just bough my first thundercat special edition
Hi everyone, thanks for all the comments, the bike was bought from a nice chap in Halifax about 2 weeks ago. I live in Bradford BD4.
I might be tempted for the meet up in Scarborough and i am always up for a little blast on an evening. I stripped the plastics off around the clocks and removed the screen and decided that it was too much effort to replace the sidelight bulb for an LED type so i just changed the main bulb in the end.
Site look great and lots of usefull info,
A few snaps of my biking history here if anyone's interested
