Ye Olde Days
So, there we were, sorting through some stuff and we came across a box with some of our old photo's in and I found some of our previous Bikes and Cars so I scanned em in for your amusement.
These are all from the 90's so no taking the piss (I'm not stupid enough to post up the Adam Ant lookalike ones)
So... Bikes first.
One of the first Customised bikes I had, it was an XV750 engine in a custom Hardtail frame with Extended Forks and Ape Hanger bars. A real pig to manoeuvre in car parks and you REALLY knew when you hit a pothole .
Then I sold her to my best mate and got myself my favourite bike of all time. I still regret selling it to this day and would buy it back in an instant if I saw it for sale.
It was an FJ1200 Streetfighter in a custom Revolution Motorcycles frame. All the brackets, yokes and fitting were either polished Billet Alloy or Stainless Steel.
Various thing were updated over the years until it ended up like this with a full custom made Stainless Steel Exhaust System (It sounded AWSOME!!!).
This was a bike we built to run in the SuperTwins Drag Series. It was a Complete build from a TDM850 engine up. We fabricated the frame from tubing, CNC'd all the brackets, hangers, yokes, risers, oil tanks, catch cans... Basically everything. We even made the Air Shifter as we all worked in a Pneumatics Engineering firm at the time
To be honest, it was done on a budget and the engine was pretty standard so we never won anything but man was it fun to race
Now for some of our MANY cars.
First off is my Capri. Now I can honestly say that I am surprised that I'm still alive today after owning this beast. It wasn't the fastest car I've owned but it was certainly the twitchiest.
It had a Burton 2.1ltr Blueprinted engine with a quickshift gearbox. Now the thing about Capri's is that being rear wheel drive and not that well designed, they were a piece of shit to drive in the wet as standard. You daren't touch the throttle on a roundabout in the wet as you would end up facing the wrong way. This was like that, but in the dry. The only way to drive it at all was to deliberately boot it and drift around roundabouts and bends. Great fun but not good on the nerves after a while.
You can also see the wife's Orion Ghia RS on the driveway.
Next up is our Sierra XR4i RS. Lovely car, quick as F&%k and really comfortable.
Lastly my pride and joy from my BANZAI phase. This was an imported Japanese 2.2 Vtec BB4 with LSD but otherwise standard (not for long).
This was slammed to the ground with fully adjustable SPAX all round, No end of bits and bobs, air filters, strut braces, Full SS exhaust system yada yada yada. Bloody stupid car to have in Milton Keynes (where it seemed they sent all the speed humps for testing)
Well, that's all for now, I might scan some more in sometime and give you another laugh.
Hope you enjoy.

Ace pics, We had a bright Orange 3 litre 'S' Capri with full body kit. Horrible car!
I had an XR3i cabriolet with RS body kit
But my favourite car was my Fiesta ST, so much fun to drive!

I too had an imported prelude 2.2 vtec si, the wide si with the standard 200bhp, it too was very low, beautiful car, jet black, very dark tinted windows, 4 wheel steer,LSD, all the toys.
Best car I ever owned, I know what you mean about speed bumps though, I used to drive miles out of my way to avoid them.

Re: Ye Olde Days
Great pics Dai San but what happened to the Orion Ghis RS - I cannae see it :(
My mate's dad had the exact same car when we were growing up and we drove to the South of France in it one year (from the North of Scotland mind!) and we were shoe-horned into the back eating our own knees. It could fair shift though

Great pics Bryan, I can just see you sliding across the bonnet of the Capri (Dukes of hazzard style) in a pair of huge flares & a handlebar moustache

Car like that he must've imagined being Bodie out our the professionals, but did you enlist the help of a curly permed friend to play Doyle??robertcains wrote:Great pics Bryan, I can just see you sliding across the bonnet of the Capri (Dukes of hazzard style) in a pair of huge flares & a handlebar moustache
Nice reminisce by the way, wish I'd taken more pictures of my old chariots now, could name em all but to be honest it's not exactly a who's who of classics as a lot of company cars thrown in and I'd drive any old shed in my youth
