the bike makeover is almost complete
First topic message reminder :
hi guys, as you know ive been made redundant. I did ponder on buying a new bike, (another bike, not new). But decided until i get a job the moneys best staying for living off!
soooo as all my panels were mismatched, broken, scraped, tired (although looked ok from a distance), decided to send off to china for a new set. (This was my fave scheme same as Mac Jocks)
It was deffo a job i needed help with as it didnt quite fit the bike easily, but we got there in the end.
I had bought the levers off ebay, very happy with those along with grips, yoke nut, oil cap. I also bought it a couple of necessary bits that you cant see, i.e. new rear brake pads for starters. hopefully the bike engine will last me but if not, my dad will prob change the engine for me.
Ive prob spent about £400 in all but still cheaper than going out and buying another bike at this time of year.
enjoy ......
just need to re spray my hugger

Wowey wrote:i also bought a black petrol cap surround from them which comes with risers and longer screws so the petrol hole is now flush with the tank cover. again a bit of tweeking here and there but well worth it for that professional finish. i didnt want it to look shabby and up close it does not.
I had exactly the same problem this weekend, I could not get the tank pad to fit so that it was flush with pad around the cap area, I also had to trim a bit off near the seat clamp as the thickness of pad prevented seat from fitting in to place.
I have not put any adhesives or silicons on at moment to secure pad, as I am not happy with the way it is sitting
Could you send me a link to where you bought petrol cap surround from
edit: sorry replied to first mention of cap, then read rest of thread afterwards
