New cat owner!
Hi everyone!
New owner of a 1999 Thundercat here, in the red/black/white colour scheme (never thought i'd get anything red being a man city fan! but it looks awesome so i had to get it!)
Just bought it saturday gone, rode all the way from Manchester to Doncaster on my YZF R125, should hopefully be picking it up this weekend coming or maybe the weekend after! as soon as possible really, just need it to be restricted as i've only just passed my test so am restricted to 33bhp :(
Anyway my names Jack, i'm 19 and live in south manchester, some awesome cat's on this website!

Re: New cat owner!
Hi Jack and welcome!
Glad to see you've picked the best and fastest colours for your cat there!!
It'll be one helluva jump for you going from a 125, I went from a 500cc suzuki and thought there was gaping chasm of difference between the two bikes, grab ya socks and crotch, hold on tight and gurn like a fool when you open the taps on your new baby!!
Though do be careful to start with, the bikes forgiving but got to ease into it
Dave

Already said hello & welcome in the lounge, but I'll do it here too
Hope you enjoy the forum and take part as much as you feel comfy with
Look forward to perhaps seeing you on one of the meets.
Don't worry about being restricted, and take yer time getting used to the new bigger and more powerfull steed.
Cheers

Welcome to the site Jack, good to see another Manc on the site, I'm from Oldham but Manchester born and bred, hope you enjoy your new cat and safe riding, like others have already said even restricted the cat is a hell of a jump from a 125 but they are forgiving as long as you're careful, best of luck and hope we can meet up for a ride out some time.

Re: New cat owner!
Hi Jack,
Welcome to the site. Congratulations on purchasing the 'cat. Post up some pics once you get her and show us what you got!
Enjoy the bike, but please give yourself time to get to know her. Remember if you feel you're not in control (you'll know when) then just back off and get back to enjoying the ride. There'll be lots to learn - just don't learn the hard way!
Oh, and join one of the ride-outs - organised or impromptu - you'll learn a lot riding with others.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Jack, welcome. From what I've seen a restricted 'cat isn't that slow. Take it easy and enjoy.

Re: New cat owner!
Thanks for making me feel so welcome guys!
Yeah apparently they aren't too slow, big improvement on my 125 that's for sure! Should hopefully get to some ride outs n meet ups this year for sure! just focus on getting used to a bigger bike first and then get my arse along to some!
