Anyone seen the new R1?

I know this is a site, but has anyone had a close up with the new R1?

Dragged Pam (Mrs SteveCat) down the local Yammy dealer on Friday to claim the 2nd prize in the R1 competition (wishful thinking, didn't want an R1 - what would I do with it?). Whilst I'm trying to look impressed at the 2009 beast, Pam is eyeing out the talent and then asks me about the bike in the window she rather likes to look of - a Red R125!
It didn't get any better for the R1 when the sales guys started it. I'm sure it must go faster than s*t off a shovel, but sounded a bit like my 'cat when 1 of the coils packed up. Somewhat un-impressed, quite a lot of us leave pretty sharpish afterwards.
The 'Cat was furious that I had gone to look at another bike and sped home, not interested in my story and nearly ignoring me trying to slow her down to avoid a photo opportunity (she doesn't like her picture taken!) .
Had I have known that Friday night was going to be the best riding conditions of the weekend, I'd have gone for a nice long ride - well maybe not that long, would have soon run out of roads with bright lights!

I sat on one - nearly cut myself getting off it - all those edges!! I'll stick with Ezzy and if i ever get the extra dosh i'm getting a Gladius (yeah i know they're gawdy ) i'm going to call it Spartacus!!!!!!

Saw one up close, but didn't hear it fire up. Wonder if its like the new Blade? Whilst my Cat was in getting some much needed care and attention (and I'm sure many people on here will vouch how little of that I bestow on the poor thing!), I was offered a play on a new Blade. fired up and I was distinctly unimpressed with the lack of anything, jumped on anyway (well the fella put a load of free fuel in so it would have rude if I didn't) the quiet continued whilst the scenery came rushing towards me very quickly... and then it hit me (no, not the scenery!), there was noise. Apparently there is a little valve that at 4,500rpm opens up in the can and that increases you to warp factor pluto and the noise becomes almost nice. OK, nothing like my blue flame on full chatter, but still...

Anyway, I digress. If anyone has an R1 they want to go to a bad home, just let me know and I'll gladly offer up my services!!!

I saw the New R1 today at a dealer,whats with the white one with the pink Delta Box??? Is that for ladies????

Who's Sparticus anyway?Didn't he wear a skirt? Maybe thats who the new R1 is aimed at...???

It won't be pink it'll be 'Nuclear Red' thats what the man at Webbs said to me indignantly the last time i enquired how many blokes had been interested in the 'pink' Speed triple!!!!!

Another good reason I wouldn't like one.

Oh why am I trying to be so practical, guess it's OK to look at - I wouldn't like to ride it though, it wasn't designed for the 'fuller figure' and definitely not meant for pillions (unless they have a 20" waist and heat resistant legs).
It has three power modes, if you haven't killed yourself fiddling with them (I'm sure the tamest is still lethal) you can park it at home and have some one take it away from you, no one will take the blindest bit of notice of the bike's cry's for help.
