New Banner

When did that happen then?

Just noticed it. Is this a case of me being on the ball as it has just changed....

Or more likely has it been like this for a couple of months and I've just noticed... Like when the missus gets her hair done

Ohh, don't worry - it's nothing serious (like Tel having his hair done!).

Not quite like that, if you don't say anything you soon realise something is wrong but can't work out what it is.

Mmmmn - not too sure about the red and blue tribal bit. Ends of it look a bit swastika-ish or even suzuki like!
Nice to see other colour cats than blue though.

It did indeed change overnight (25th to 26th).

There were some muted rumblings about not liking the animals head in the middle of the last design. Anything referencing or resembling the cartoon series of the same name is generaly frowned at too.

As you'll have noticed criticism is always quick off the mark but praise is seldom passed along, a bit like a novocaine jab in the tongue. Alternatives suggestions are as rare as hens teeth or rocking horse pooh. Even when blatently asked for !

So I took it upon myself to design the above (alternative - but not set in stone) header.

If anyone has any alternative banner/header (whatever you want to call it) design, please submit it to any of the administrators or moderators (those who's usernames appear in red or yellow) or post them up in the "Site Suggestions" section.
We'll be happy to see them and they will be given a fair hearing by your peers in a thread with a vote/poll.

Make your banner on a transparent background and no bigger than 1200 pixles (w) x 300 (h).

Things to avoid: Animals, anything to do with Thundercats the cartoon, celtic tribalness, swastika's, suzukiness or anything you would not be comfortable for your 6 year old child to see.

Do TRY and fit in: Yamaha, Thundercat (the motorcycle), and YZFness

Just over an hour since last post . . . . . . Breathing returned to normal now

I take it the lack of replys is down to a sudden outbreak of arty-fartyness and yer all designing yer own interpetation of a forum banner.

That or you're all still under cover with kevlar hard hats on !

I think you've done a good job, much more inviting than other forums! Good effort.

Hey way toooooooo late , and it's only the (Temp) current banner as it's un opposed atm. Waiting for the "Don't like the animals head" , "swastika" , "what's wrong with yamaha's "" piss poor effort" ......"constructive" alternates.

Photoshop, Paintshop, PSP, Corel Draw . . . . . . Hell . . . even Windows Paint is but a click away . . . . . . .

I'm sorry about the animals' head. I put my hand up for admitting I wasn't fond of it.

ATM, I don't know which end is up. When my chaos returns to some semblance of order I'll have a go - I'll be using 'The Gimp' as I don't do Windows stuff.

I know how rubbish I am at design / graphics stuff and can say right off I can't beat what you've done. I promise I will try, and let it be judged.

Ladies and gents, all those who have mentioned or alluded to not liking any part of the graphic, or even if you merely thought it - the gauntlet has been laid, challenge on, lets see what we can do
