Lots of good info there. Definitely worth shopping around every year too!
TFTP isn't always cheaper (or 'worth it' cheaper) than fully comp.
Good luck.
Cheers

Re: Cheap Insurance For My Cat!!!!
All insurance is dependant on many factors including age, riding experience and postcode, what's good for one may not be good for everyone. I found Be Wiser great for my needs but I'm 39, you just need to google motorcycle insurance and get as many quotes as you can. Be careful when choosing as some allow pillion passengers, ride other bikes, breakdown cover, euro cover etc.
If they offer breakdown see who it's with and google them also. If its a name you've never heard of google it for reviews.
Finally be careful about any restrictions placed on the policy. I initially took my policy out with Footman James and when they asked about approx annual mileage for the quote they incorporated into the policy and I ended up with a 1500 mile restricted policy, as a new rider I had no idea how many miles I would do but this restriction could have been costly if I'd exceeded it.
Remember cheapest isn't always best

No help right now, but get some advanced training and it will really help to bring the cost down for next time.

Re: Cheap Insurance For My Cat!!!!
From my experience stay away from MCE, they are cheap for a reason.
But if you have to actually claim through them it'll cause you more paint than when you fell off. I got stung for an excess when the paperwork showed none, I sent them a copy and they just said "We're sorry about this but you will not be getting the excess back" end of.
I even got through to one of the big bosses and he asked me "What do you want me to do", I said "Honour your paperwork"
His reply "That's just not going to happen son".. Also break down cover quoted "National breakdown cover, no mater where you are at home or away we'll get someone out to you". I broke down 13 miles from home and when I rang them up "Sorry sir you only have a 10 mile from home breakdown service."
At the time I worked 30 miles from home so why the hell would I agreed to a 10 mile from home radius? It's just mental, I argues like a trooper and the breakdown fella who turned up 'sorted' it for me as 10 miles, I eventually argued with them that much they agreed that it should have been national breakdown and amended it.. Thank you for finally seeing sence MCE... Broke down again and guess what.. "Sorry sir you only have a breakdown within 10 miles of your home address".
I would LOVE to think that I am someone who has just had a bad time with them and that they are great for eveyone else but search as many bike forums as you can and you'll see them come up time and time again for the same thing

I've been with Swinton for 3 years without an issue. But I've had so many problems since I cancelled, I very much doubt I'll be going back.
Same old, same old, you never know how good/bad an insurance company is until you make a claim.

Re: Cheap Insurance For My Cat!!!!
I had a claim about 8 years ago (on the Cat) with Carole Nash, and that was sorted out fine. There were a few crossed wires on the way (repairer waiting for the assessor, assessor waiting for the repairer, etc.) so I had to move things along, but no problems where it mattered, i.e. paying up.
