And yours had 'home made' fairings if I remember correctly?
To replace your bike with a lower mileage replacement in good condition is a 'no brainer'

Re: i have bike back its total lost
I'm confused by the logic (and that's saying something coming from a woman) but i replied in the other post and still didn't unconfuse myself suffice to say that surely the insurance payout would get you what appears from the above comments to be a better deal and all you would really be paying out is the price of the fuel to get it - i don't see a problem here surely it's an easy decision??
You don't have a Thundercat :( (and you presumably want another) - he has one he no longer wants that is a better spec and falls within the payout amount you received Happy Days, what's to think about you get a bike he gets rid of it - everyone's a winner from where i'm sitting (but then i do have 2 bikes in my garage one of which is a cat so i'm a happy munchkin anyway )

Re: i have bike back its total lost
Condition is far more important than year of registration. Mine is a '97 and makes many newer ones look...... um..... 'lived in'.
The Cat was virtually unchanged throughout its production period, so better to find a tidy bike than one from a specific year.

Re: i have bike back its total lost
I agree with others posts don't let the age of the bike put you off, mines a 1998 and in near show room condition, I get many comments about it being in better and tidier condition than some modern bikes

Re: i have bike back its total lost
Thing with Thundercats are they are definitely a marmite bike, you either love em or hate em. With that in mind and based on the fact that they have barely changed throughout their production it matters not how old it is but more the mileage and condition.
I should have wore a mask, rode a horse called Black Bess and carried a pistol when I picked my bike up because the price was an absolute steal for what i got but I would have paid a similar price for an older bike in the right condition. A bike with 7k on the clock is virtually new as far as I'm concerned but then again I might be a bit bewildered myself.
I would like to think I'll have my bike for years after I've grown out of it and maybe bought something bigger, half because it's a nostalgia thing; you know first BIG bike and all that but also because it's such a damn good, reliable, great looking future classic!! My two Penneth for what it's worth.
If you don't see this through the price and the age and the mileage then perhaps a thundercat isn't the bike for you my friend and you should perhaps go a little more mainstream. I'm happy here....slightly left of centre

A bike with 7k is the better one , I've done more miles than that in my first year of owning my cat , defenatly the better deal

Re: i have bike back its total lost
7000 miles what a bargain, not even run-in
Cats hold there value, you can get a newer Fireblade for less money, but I'll stick with the Cat thank you. 7000 miles if only mine was.
