Helmet camera mounts?
So I've been thinking about using my GoPro camera that I usually use for mountain biking to record my rides. I would like to attach the camera to my helmet like I do with my mountain bike. But my question is how will the mount effect my helmet if I have an accident? Is there any laws against sticking things on helmets?
Re: Helmet camera mounts?
the camera will fall off before it can do any damage. as far as.laws I have no idea. I used a sticky mount on my old helmet but if you dont want.to mess up the paint you can use the suction cup on the side and position it so the camera is top and center.
here's what it looks like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Helmet camera mounts?
Is it not better to mount the camera on the bike? I just envisage your head movements spoiling the footage.
One or two on here & have bike mounted cams & the footage is extremely good.

Re: Helmet camera mounts?
I think I will risk the mount on the top of the helmet as this will give the best view of the road and where I'm looking.
I'm pretty sure the mount would create an increased pressure point on the helmet if it was hit straight on at the exact spot, the chances are extremely slim but the risk is there. I'm sure the health and safety police will catch on to it at some stage.
I will experiment with mounts attached to the bike also when I can be bothered. I would like one on the tank looking through the screen. but I have a tinted screen so won't be much good...

Re: Helmet camera mounts?
I always prefer bike mounted videos, always look better.
And don't forget the self preservation part of it too, how many helmet mounted video's have you seen without a single lifesaver and that glance at the speedo showing speeds in excess of the limit.
I'm just over paranoid that you don't want to give them evidence against you.
I'd love a bullet cam and to mount it on top of the front hugger if there's enough room between it and the underneath of the nose cone under full breaking not to bottom it out prematurely

Re: Helmet camera mounts?
Stretchie my man,
In the 929 you have three headlight bulbs. Thought ever cross yer mind to mount a 'bullet' type cam in one of the two main beam bulb spots.
1st hand (protected) view from the very sharks nose ! :cyclops:

Re: Helmet camera mounts?
AWESOME, just need to buy another 929 and a bullet cam now
: )
OR.. just off to look at the BlackBird nose cone, would be a pain in the anus to fit and set up level but would be protected from the elements, just get some rainex on the headlight
