Hello peeps
Hi all
I'm a bit of a late starter in this game, at the ripe old age of 43 ive just passed my Test, first time thank god could have cost me a fortune otherwise.
I used to ride back in the 80s an old YB100 (which is now up for sale via ebay if anyones interested) after that I got into fast cars, had kids, mortgage etc.
However now I have the time and the funds to do the bike thing so ive bid on a local cat on ebay and low and behold won the thing. Its a 2000 plate with 5000miles YES 5000 on the clock, cherry red all over,
Ive done the HPI on it and it all seems legit, I was amazed how little the bike has done.
The seller is MOTing it today and I should pick it up tomorrow, hopefully its as good as he is making out and Ive grabbed a bargain at £1500.
Just thought I'd say Hi all and i'm sure i'll be asking some stupid questions anytime soon.

Hi Steve
Looking nice and I should think so too at <500 miles a year.
Many before you have asked stupid questions (self included) so feel free to find some of them on the site .... You can then ask your own.
Welcome on board.
Treat her with lots of respect and she'll be a good girl for you.
Cheers

Re: Hello peeps
Hi Steve,
Welcome to the site and to your new Thundercat. I'm sure you'll love the 'cat. Just take it easy to start with and get to know her.
Now all you have to do is decide which of the ride-outs you want to show here off at. BTW that's the bike I'm talking about!
Let us know your first impressions once you've got some miles under your belt.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Hello peeps
Hi there and welcome. I too am a late starter at 38 and the cat is my first big bike. You really can pick up some bargains at the moment as I did and you'll love the bike, seriously I countdown every Sunday night to the following Saturday morning when I can get her and go out again, making the most of the "good" weather befor it turns and getting some much needed miles under my belt.
Good luck and enjoy. Treat her with respect and she'll look after you, the bike is very forgiving.

Re: Hello peeps
Well I picked her up today with a fresh MOT and got her a shiney new tax disc, she started first time and sounded sweet, engine feels really tight too, went for a quick blat down the A419 before I realised I hadn't really checked anything like tyre pressures, coolant levels etc, so I had a not so quick saunter home. When I checked everything was as it should be it (which it wasnt, tyre pressures were both at <20) it was time for the school run, so its in the garage for the night.
A quick polish tonight and the only thing I found was a crack in the front mudguard, looks like it was done by a disc-lock, still its barely noticable and the rest is mint.
I really think i've lucked in and bagged a real bargain, I got all the old MOTs which confirmed the lack of milage, (why do people buy bikes and not use them?) the original can which looks new and even the original receipt from when it was new and every reciept since.
I'm off to add a few miles tomorrow and nip in to George Whites to grab a few bits, any recommendations for tank protectors or are they all much of a mutchness?
Cheers all
