My Cat ;)
Hi all,
So I picked the bike up 2 weeks ago and have covered about 700 miles. Thought it was time for a few pics and my first impressions of the bike!
Overall the bike is in really good nick, 98 model with 16k miles. Fairing is in very good condition the only visible digs are where the seat cowel had dug into the paintwork. Other than that the bikes been ace, needed a new battery and will need a new chain and sprockets fairly soon too. But gave here a bit of tlc yesterday: polish and tightened chain and oiled it, driving miles better now.
I was wondering how much will a decent chain and sprockets including fitting set me back?
Absolutely love the Cat though, as you all said they are so forgiving if they want to be but at the same time if you open the taps, god to they fly ! Great bike and all i can say is that Im glad i chose a cat!
cheers
ollie
Ps: Ignore the sticker on the screen it was from the previous owner and it read: essexbikers.co.uk. Whilst peeling off the sticker yesterday I was interupted by something and then forgot about it. It now reads:
sexbikers.co.uk

Welcome,
Good to see some younger peeps joining the site
And you made the sensible decision to by the one with the best paint job
open the taps on it, hang on and laugh your head off in the process
I am with Rosco about the sticker :o

Re: My Cat ;)
Looks very nice Ollie, well done.
Just need to setup your website now
Glad you are enjoying the 'Cat and getting in the miles, I've managed about 70 miles since you saw mine!
You can try Busters for the chain and sprockets, don't know how much you'd be charged for fitting, £50 maybe. Might be worth waiting till you get back to London and get into the workshop, you'll need a chain breaker and some spanners.

Re: My Cat ;)
@ Steve great to hear your back on the bike
I guess Ill have to swing by yours when I next return and then perhaps we can go for a little ride. Is the shoulder fully mended now or still a little fragile?
Ill see what i do re chain, money is pretty tight atm so perhaps doing it myself will be the most viable option. I recon Ill decide in a few weeks what i do when i hopefully have a little more cash floating about.
Btw if anybody needs a neck warmer/protector theres a shop nearby here in bath that does brilliant ones for 4 quid. Bargain! If somebody is really keen I can arrange to post to you or in steves case ill drop it off

Re: My Cat ;)
'fraid the shoulder's not mended, pain down but it still feels like a collapsed wheel bearing when I move it :(
Let me know when you're back and lets see what ride we can organise.
Keep the chain oiled especially the tight spots.
I have a few neck warmers stashed away, thanks
