I've been had......
The perils of taking folk at face value....in May I moved back to the mainland from Guernsey bringing a Guernsey registered 'cat with me. It has had a bit of a hard life, being used mainly for the regular sprints and hill climbs on the island and has light scuff damage in a few places so was (luckily...) good and cheap. Anyhoo, I had a bill of sale and a log book and when I hired the removals guys, they happily told me the correct way of doing things was to hand over all the paperwork and pay THEM the import fees, then they would do all the hard work on my behalf. Luckily the fees are calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of the bike so I only had to hand over a couple of hundred quid.......( any alarm bells ringing yet??) which, like a complete plum I did ( in cash DOH!!). So, a few weeks ago, the bike is looking brilliant after I'd rebuilt her and replaced the sorry looking bits and pieces and its time to get her on the road, so, I rings up the DVLA and asks 'em where my log book was..........anyone suprised that they had never heard of it?? The rotten bloody removals guys just pocketed the cash and probably stuck the other paperwork they had of mine straight in the nearest bin. Bast###ds. Now I have to get an import certificate from Guernsey, try to write to the previous owner and hope he can be bothered to write me a new reciept and post it to me and then pay the import duty and vat again and then license and mot the 'ole girl. Lessons learnt?? Theres no fool like and old fool............

Re: I've been had......
Can you not get in touch with the removals company and ask them what happened to your money??? Speak to the boss??
Re: I've been had......
That's pretty sh*tty behaviour
I'd be tempted to go back on holiday and slash the tyres on the lorry.
That's bound to be good for a few hundred quid.

Oh crap. Sorry to hear that.
That's lower than low and double whammy getting it sorted properly.
Good Luck for getting it sorted.

Or Speak to the Police on Guernsey.
What was the removal companies name, I have a client on the Island who seems to know most people - lets face it there is a lot of places to hide -
