Four Pots Good
Well after some therapeutic time alone with the Cat I am pleased to say that she is back on the road and feeling good.
Replaced the coils - big thanks to SteveCat for your generosity - drained out the coolant which was a god awful colour, flushed out radiator replaced all coolant etc, fitted a new throttle cable, new clutch lever and gave her a good clean while the panels were off. Was going to change oil but work is manic this week and I wanted her back on road so that will need to wait a week or two.
Anyway due to be taxed by Wednesday and MOT expires on Saturday so will arrange that tomorrow.
Fingers crossed as over and above the work I have done this weekend she has been treated to a new chain and sprocket and front braided lines in last 6 weeks.
Fingers crossed for MOT and then it will be roll on Surf n Turf :whoop:

Re: Four Pots Good
Hi Fraz.
That is great news.
Roll on Surf & Turf indeed.
Can I ask the reason for changing the throttle cable? Just because or having problems? Mine has never been done (well certainly never in the last 8 years I've had it). It is a little sticky but this is possibly due to the heated grips too.
I can offer to balance your carb's courtesy of DBD's manometer sometime if you can advise on the throttle cable.
Fingers crossed for the MOT.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Four Pots Good
Hi Ross
Changed throttle cable for two reasons really. Firstly the plastic covering it was a bit chewed up at the top on the accelerator cable and I was wary of water getting in and damaging the cable. Secondly while I had tank etc off thought it was as well to see if anything obvious needed doing, cable was looking a bit worn on decelerator side so rather than wait for the cable to ping just a bit of preventative maintenance. Knew from stripping last bike for parts it was a fiddly job so when I had the time just gave it a go. £20 for cable from wemoto and a bit of piece of mind.
May well take you up on the carb balancing offer - will be in touch re the ride down to S n T - currently working on getting the Friday off work and as boss is a biker and I am banking a few extra hours hopefully should get Fri - Mon off to enjoy it properly

Re: Four Pots Good
Glad you got it sorted Fraz and the coil worked!
I'm pretty sure you're spot on there, fitted new grips Saturday and had issues with the return being slow/sticky, un-elegant solution was to cut off the rubber end piece next to the bar end.
