Cool beans.
Why no mirrors?
Is it in case you tip it and break them, leaving you with no rear view for the ride home? (Assuming the bike is rideable. )

Like the Vulcan in the background, is this why you've got new mirrors & indicators

Why no mirrors?
It was an active airfield, so it was either tape them up with the gastly green tape or remove them. Since it was my first track day and I had a high chance of coming off I thought it best to take them off.

I have new mirros and indicators because I ripped the indicator off on a cone (notice the dent in the new exhaust in the first picture!) and when I was ordering new ones I saw some nicer mirrors which had indicators in so I order the mirrors as well.

Well, bearing in mind it's not a race I past more than had passed me. On the twisties I managed to pass and R1, R6, GSX-R amongst others but they left me on the straight. The GSX-R pulled off the track after overtaking me on the straight so I couldn't make him look stupid on the twisties again - put a big grin on my face.
The track was 4.5miles and you got approx 30mins each session.
Once the suspension had been tweeked I found I could throw her into bends hard and under heavy breaing - it was a joy. With a bit more time on the track I think I could get her lower in the bends. Looking forward to the next track day - going to fit one more in this season.
I did get through a lot of oil. It seems that on normal road use it barely uses any but after 2 sessions on the track I was below minimum. Luckily I took the bike in a trailer so took my spare oil with me amongst other things.

I know last year we had a cracking day and Nick, who still had his 'cat, managed to hold his own with the best and received some great compliments.
I did manage about 10 secs of almost 'flat-out 'cat' as the last straight is 1.2 miles long.

You 2 should have come along, I wouldn't have been the only Cat then. :(

Re: RAF Waddington 2011 Pics.
Nicks got a brand new Speed Triple and sold his 'cat so didn't want to risk damaging it, I may do next year but I'm changing my bike too so probably not. We'll see!!
