Chertsey to Cornwall
Hey guys.
Not much to pass on but i just got back from my first long ride on my gorgeous cat. From Chertsey down to Bude (Cornwall) and back.
Route wasnt very exciting as i was going for haste not enjoyment ([family was already down there and i only had the weekend free from work :(]
M3 to jct 8, A303, A30. This gets you almost all the way into cornwall. plenty of fill up points which is good but for some reason they clump like bus's. loads together then nothing for 90 miles. Gets a little worrying when you start to see the 100 mile mark tick over and you havent seen a petrol stop for over an hour.
After you get off the A30 in cornwall you pick up A3079 and A3072. Now these are perfect riding roads. Ive never experienced anything like it. Beautifull country scenery. Fields as far as the eye can see on your left and gorgeous woodlands on your right. Loads of long sweeping bends with just enough view ahead to let you drop a gear pass the tortoise caravan in front of you then open up the throttle and feel the world fade into a blur behind you.
Like I said, first long ride on the cat. 500 mile round trip and the gorgeous girl has earned a full clean, wax, buff and good all round TLC.
Faithfull, reliable, fun, fast and comfortable. In other words PERFECT.
oh and a quick note. Whatever the guy on the cbr 900 was up to blasting up my inside on a round about cutting across lanes myself and cars just to ride at 60mph on the national speed limit dual carriage way i have no idea but leaving him behind felt reallly good.
If anyone is going down to Cornwall in the vacinity of Bude drop me a line there are a few really good places to stay, and some definate places to visit.

Re: Chertsey to Cornwall
Hi Savage,
Thanks for posting that up. It's good to hear about others impressions of the 'cat and their ride-out incidents. The SW is not a part of the country I know at all so any info or pics is always welcome.
Sounds like you had a great weekend. Hope it stayed dry for you. Next trip for me is the Big Mac. I hope it stays dry for me!
Cheers,
Chris

Brilliant, glad you enjoyed.
Cornwall is lovely, looks like you've sussed out some good roads but if you're interested I can find the routes I took when there for next time you go.

Re: Chertsey to Cornwall
Big mac? your going to have to fill me in on that one.
Good luck with the weather. I did have short bursts of rain but that was fine gave me a chance to clean the bugs off my screen
I'm hoping to get the misses on a bike and take the familiy down there for a riding week away. I'll probably tap your knowledge on the local roads if and when i can get her arse in gear if thats alright steve. I only really know the roads around Bude so that would be great. Or should i say purrfect :p
