no wonder my lights were playing up
had to invetigate, as after the brake light episode( thanks to rosco for the spare bulb) my rear right indicator died and i came home without one.
after buying new bulbs, only to find it still didnt work, i had a look at the wiring, and basically most of the wires were loosely held in place with soggy masking tape and not much else.
all sorted now, crimped into the connectors properly , and everything working as it should.
Quite pleased with myself..seeing as i had no clue what i was doing hehehe

Does this mean your right indicator comes on when you brake?
Well done for finding and sorting the problem
