First topic message reminder :

what exactly do i need ? i know its semi synthetic, but theres different numbers on it ?
also how do i know what bulbs i need as spares without actually removing the existing ones?

Tyre Pressures :- 32psi in the front and 34 psi in the rear
Oil :- 10w-40
Bulb :- Halogen H4 P437

I always buy Halfords Semi-Synthetic motorcycle oil, never had any problems with it.
I buy in in the winter time as it's usualy half price..
Tyres no idea not had a Thundercat for years

mmmm.......I think the common consensus is 36psi front 42psi rear
When I did the track day recently I asked them to adjust them and they suggested 32 and 34 like you said (from memory).

Re: more stoopid questions lol
Yep, 36 42 for road use especially when loaded, reduced pressure on the track for a bigger footprint but will increase wear

Re: more stoopid questions lol
Yep, get semi synthetic 10w 40, make sure it's bike oil and not car oil, your bike has a wet clutch meaning the same oil is used around the clutch and bike oil is created with this in mind, car oil is not.
I've been using Halfords oil for years in all the bikes (from Cheryls CG125, through 400's, 600's and upto the BlackBird), the car and the Land Rover and had no problems.
Tyre pressures. There are normally two suggested set ups for tyre pressures on bikes.
A - Normal riding
B - Fast riding/ with pillion
For the thundercat B - fast riding is 36 front 42 rear and I THINK for A it's 32 front 36 rear.
I ran 36 front / 42 rear on the thundercat as do most people I think
Hope this helps

Re: more stoopid questions lol
Yeah, Halfords oil is steadily going up now too, used to be about £20 and in the past 6 months went to £23-£23 and now I think it's £27 so about £5.40 a litre.
I've been looking at this:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Will look further into it, but it works out at £3.75 a litre.

Re: more stoopid questions lol
I run 36f 42r usually and that's what i was advised yet again when i got new tyres. I really noticed an improvement when I first used these pressures. And I knock a couple off the back tyre when I've got a pillion on. Having never done a track day am I right in assuming that you run on lower pressures for more tread and also because tyres get much hotter from being at high speeds constantly and hence they expand more?
Halfords oil.
Not got any spare bulbs
BTW I recently found out I can pump my tyres up with my hand pump I use on my push bike - can't believe I've been relying on garage forecourts for so long!

Re: more stoopid questions lol
The bible says
32f 36r for rider only,
36f 41r for rider and passenger OR high speed riding.
So what if you want to have a passenger AND high speed riding?
I know that with cars the more goods, passengers etc you carry you increase the pressure. Some folks appear to advise the opposite for bikes??
Me thinks the worm filled can has been opened.
Cheers

Time is relative.
Somewhere in the world it's 5pm and time to stop working!
I just never seem to be there :(

Re: more stoopid questions lol
At 13.5 stone and 2ft tall I think 'Wide' arse rather than short arse is more appropriate.
