What a sh!t day

what a crap day - this is my beloved dog Mitch - my faithful friend for just over 14 years. I had to have him put to sleep this morning - nuff said :( :down: been out on the bike this afternoon - first time i've come home and he's not sat at the front door with a slipper in his mouth for me.

Sorry to hear your news. They leave a big hole when they're gone :(

Hope you get through the adjustment period soon. Unless, of course, you give in and get another?

Suzi - So sorry to hear this news.
If it is for the best then it needs to be done....never easy though.
I was in bits when I had to take our doggie there a number of years ago.

Know how your feeling, am sorry you had to make that decision, but it was for the best, , we said when shandy went we wouldnt get another but sure enough 2 days later my brother came home with ben !!

It leaves a big hole , and hope your ok

sorry to hear that, one thing i hate about having dogs (or any pets for that matter) they can bring such heartache. butthink of the pleasure he brought you and think he has gone to a better place :down:

Thanks everyone - he had arthritis and then on Friday evening he couldn't move - turned out he'd had a spinal stroke - christopher and i went to be with him when he had the injection - took Sadie [img][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img] too (i asked the vet and he said he actually asked people if they had another dog to take them to be with their friend as he was sure it gave both comfort) as they've been together since i got her 5 months after Mitch - he was so pleased to see us thumping his tail but he just couldn't get up and was distressed about it which was heartbreaking to see so i've tried to console myself with the knowledge that no one could've loved him more than us and the hope that wherever he is now there will not only be children a plenty for him to get fuss from but also that he doesn't hold it against me for having to do it.

No Chris i won't get another - definately not while i still have Sade as she, like her mum, is anti-social and not keen on change at the best of times green smile
