Hello from Hampshire
Hi Guys & Girls
Just joined so I thought I would say hello....
Have had my licence for 15 years, but very rarely rode until a year ago when I picked up a ‘98 Thundercat in silver / black / orange (although I'll happily admit I think the all blue colour is the best lol)
I ride purely for fun; have just booked an MOT and realised I’ve done over 8,000 miles going nowhere around the roads of Hampshire, Dorset & Sussex over the last year
I’m currently going through IAM training. The mention of it always seems to cause so much debate on forums, so that’s all I’m going to say!
See you all around on the forum & hopefully some of you on the road too....

Re: Hello from Hampshire
HI and welcome, it is amazing just how many miles you can clock up seemingly going nowhere.
There's a few here who have completed their IAM training, I'm busy with mine - was out on an OR today actually.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Have a good mosey around the site and perhaps see you out on one of the ride outs sometime.
Good luck with the IAM.

Re: Hello from Hampshire
Hi mate.
Welcome aboard.
Was starting to like you until you diss'd our colour scheme.
We used to feed the dog IAM's.....all joking aside I think anything that improves observation, road positioning, hazard awareness & safety can only be a good thing.
I'm heard the folk you get to go out with from IAM vary greatly in humour, style, methods etc. Hope your group allows you to enjoy it too without it being a lecture after lecture. Enjoy......and post up your experience.
Cheers
Rosco

Re: Hello from Hampshire
Hi thunderpt,
Welcome to the site. Don't know what you mean about the IAM!
Hope you find the training useful. It's a chance to improve the odds in your favour Let us know how you get on.
8k in a year is pretty impressive. Sounds like you might be serious competition for some of our high mileage guys on here. Only did about half that last year, but that was in just over 4 months and, I've just realised on checking, ate a complete set of tyres!
Enjoy the season and hope to see you join one of the rideouts.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Hello from Hampshire
Are you with the Solent Advanced Group? See they are holding a ride in to Sammy Miller's on Sunday, might blow the dust off my passport and take a ride over there.

Re: Hello from Hampshire
Thanks for all the welcome & good luck messages
SteveCat - yes, it's the Solent group I'm with. Not sure yet about Sammy Millers, but I'll keep an eye out for you if I do go
So far the IAM training is going well, although I failed the test a month or so ago Couple of reasons, but basically boiled down to being too cautious & therefore not making enough progress.

That was my problem last year, opposite problem this year and I need to reign in as there is too much progress
Hopefully I'll get to Sammy Miller's, you can see in the avatar mine's black and I'm sure I'll take the top box with its 'roof rack', won't have that orange hi-viz though.
