Re: breakdown cover
Last year I had one of those 'freebies', OK if you have a scoot or don't go more than 15 miles from home - added on the real stuff and it became very expensive.
Have been with the RAC and have needed their help and was well looked after, had issues with lesser known (to me anyway)
breakdown companies and have been left to fend for myself.
This time I have an AA policy which is inclusive with the Carol Nash policy. The cover that is documented is quite impressive, whilst I hope not to have to use it I'd like to think I'll be OK if I did.
In future I'll be making sure it'll be AA or RAC. Price suddenly doesn't matter when you're stuck on the side of the road and needing help.

Re: breakdown cover
Does anyone know if the RAC any vehicle policy thing will cover you whether you are stranded on the bike or the car as ideally I would like a policy that covers me if I am out with either. Cheers in advance. Dont want to use AA as had a fall out with them over car policy and spat the dummy a touch.

Re: breakdown cover
According to their website they do, but I'd check the fine print - one of the options they do has a vehicle age limit.

Re: breakdown cover
If it helps I went for Gem motoring assist it covers you and not the vehicle , I ended up with a 2 for 1 offer so for £80 got me and the wife covered.
Used them twice now once for running out of petrol got a lift to the nearest station nwith the bike on the back.
Then when the bike would not start tried to get it running could not get it going so took it to the garage of my choice.
Gives you everything for cover home start etc.. and the fact it covers you .
Just looked and the offer is back on their site

Re: breakdown cover
Had my car covered with the RAC any vehicle policy so when i got my bike i gave them a ring to check and they said i was covered in the car or on the bike. They have been very good when i had to use them for the car.
