Thunder first outing
Well had the cat for a few weeks now but not had a proper run on it.
So had a dentist app yesterday so took her down so including running about the towns at both ends 300 miles or so.
The only things i have found is my right wrist/hand gets a tad sore but that will be the clutch and as there was roadworks i did have to turn the engine of a couple of times as started to overheat but to be fair i was sitting doing nothing for about 20 mins at a time.
1 major thing i noticed was on all the other bikes i have ridden Deuville / Trophy 1200 / Bandit 600 / Vareado this is by far the quietest one of all, on most of the others with wind / engine noise i could not even hear my horn and barley hear S Club on my iPod on full belt, on the Cat I had the volume at 25% and still hear the engine etc.
The best bits were to be able to give the engine a bit when in the multi storey car park wicked noise.
Also being able to overtake a huge traffic queue going up the Berrydale braes.
But the worst part the numb mouth after root canal on my front tooth and dribbling in my helmet

Ahh so that's why it was so uncomfy , yes i mean my left hand, my right hand was sore and not bike related but a cheese grating incident.
Re: Thunder first outing
Fab pics Wow you must be dedicated, that's some distance for a dentist trip, however well worth it for the scenery! And at least it was warm enough that when you dribbled, it didn't freeze And I bet you couldn't wipe the grin off your face after the multi-storey carpark noise check....or was that AFTER the dentist?? In which case, you probably couldn't raise a smile!
Hope your root canal treatment does the trick.... maybe catch up with you at one of the rideouts in the summer.

Re: Thunder first outing
Well i did manage a little smile.
Well i had the choice of either over £300 for private or £70 for NHS and a good run.
Was a tad cold on the way down but warmed up and the bike ran like a dream, best run I have had for a while.
Just off to clean all the crap and salt off the bike now

Re: Thunder first outing
Nice pics. The cooling fan does not come on until the temp reaches 100 then swiftly brings it back to about 80. Did the fan run or did you get concerned before that & shut it off?
