Hello all
First topic message reminder :
Hi there, I'm matt and very new to riding, currently pottering about on a CG125 on helL plates while training up for my DAS.
When I took the Honda for it's MOT I had a look round the bikes they had for sale and kept wandering back to the same machine, a nice looking yellow and silver machine with a cool sounding name and a riding position that just felt right for me, a Thundercat, so I thought I had better sign up here and find out more about them
Gonna have to hurry up and get my mod 2 done so i can have a couple of test rides.

Re: Hello all
Hey, well done on passing.
I can still remember the nerves when I took the test, but practice and belief in yourself will get you through.
Forget the nerves. Enjoy the moment when you pass Mod 2

Re: Hello all
I can add some insight to the Cat as a beginner bike. Thanks to my license from overseas, I was able to get a full motorcycle license without ever touching a bike. So when I decided I wanted to ride in the UK, I found a local guy that usually does CBT training to give me a day of "clutch and gear tuition". After that, I went out and bought a GPZ 500. It was a great bike, but didn't fit my 6ft2 frame very well, and I got tired of not being able to pass traffic easily. I held onto it for about 6 months before I felt that I'd outgrown it. After that I picked up my Cat, and it's been a great and mostly easy bike to ride. All of the comments about "not outgrowing it for a while" are true. Though I would caution that there's been a few moments on the Cat that were more difficult to recover from than I think they would've been on the 500. (though a good part of this was due to improper tire pressures that'd cause the back end to squirm around a lot under hard braking)
