Mona and the Thunderkitty
Hello everybody
I have been hooked by the Oldcat and thought I might give the UK version of a Thundercat-forum a go.
Well, my name is Mona and I am a quite fresh rider from Germany. The Kitty is a '97 model, with a brand spanking new paintjob -> brilliant white. I am an '82 model so not really brand new
Hope I will find some nice people here as were are in the UK quite often and actually plan a scotlandtrip for the summer.
You all have a good weekend
ciao for now

Hi Mona and welcome to the site.
Were you at the Eifel trip in Germany?
You must enjoy cleaning you bike if you now have a brilliant White one.
Good luck keeping it clean!
We will keep a look out for you when you come to Scotland.
When are you coming over?
Cheers

Re: Mona and the Thunderkitty
thanky ou guys
i have been cleaning it yesterday and it was quite shiny afterwards but i looked like a pig!! the flies on the front are just horrendous! but it looks sooooo nice!
no rosco, unfortunately i have not been there. tbh, i passed my license on the 19th of may, thats how fresh i am to all this i was riding a bit beforehand as we bought the bike last august. it was a bargain! and its so hard to have a bike but no license!!
i think we head off here with the trailer on the 2nd of august, stay over night at my parents at the dutch border, drive to salisbury and then to wales where we leave the trailer at our home there. official start is the 5th i think, meeting in carlisle and go from there.
carlisle -> saltcoats -> oban -> garve -> durness -> wick -> inverness -> keith -> edinburgh -> carlisle. with loads of little detours to where ever we want to and as we are off work for 3 weeks we might decide for the lake district afterwards

Re: Mona and the Thunderkitty
Welcome Mona,
Hooked by the 0ldcat huh ? . I'm sure you will meet many nice people in this forum.
Sounds like a smashing tour you have planned there. Keep an eye out for the "Clan" cats while you are traveling around Scotland, looks like you'll be passing close to where a few of them live.
Welcome again, and enjoy.

I already have a question, i dont know about the UK MOT regulations but is a viper exhaust allowed? my bike (a UK bike) has got one and german mot (tuev) does not accept them. so i am getting a standard can now to get the certificate and import my bike.

Hi & welcome mona. So long as the exhaust is not extremely loud & it does not say (not for road use) you are ok.

Welcome Mona. Don't worry about what model it / you are. I've a 2000 bike and I'm an old 65 model. Just like most of the male cat owners on the site! :rite:

Re: Mona and the Thunderkitty
your a star
i was thinking of plotting my own design on it, a black Thunder and a pink Kitty underneath
maybe a yamaha on the bellything. but i like it that people keep stopping cause they are wondering what bike it is. except the engine cover nothing else tells you its a yamaha.

It's great when people don't know what it is you have , it's very nice but like you said it does need a couple of stickers to break the White up . It would look even better with powder coated coloured wheels . Was it expensive to have it painted ?

Re: Mona and the Thunderkitty
i was thinking of getting the wheels redone and the frame too but we didnt have enough time. one day before we had to get back to germany it was ready to be put back together. so we screwed it back together and decided to get the rest done when we are over here.
tbh i dont know what a paintjob costs, we paid the fella with fags
i hated to put it back together though, its got 8 million different screws and most of them are in a shit condition so i am getting a new set of fairing screws too. im dreading it though...
i cant decide what to do. i would like it girly-ish but my boyfriend is thinking of partexing his bike to get me my dream bike and he would keep the kitty. thinking about it it would be not fair to pink it up and he ends up with it on the other side, i really really like my bike and dont really want another one... my dream bike is the cbr 600 rr with the woman on the fairing a dream!!

Re: Mona and the Thunderkitty
I love it 'de-stickered', its all incognito!!
I like the idea of 'Thunderkitty' too...I called mine 'Thunderpussy' a long time ago after a mate of Nicks called his bike that.
Go for it...A little pink never did anyone any harm....Look like a girl but ride like a demon
