Re: help the heroes ride at wootton basset
i;m actually now beginning to wonder how they are going to manage this or if they'll even be allowed to have that amount of numbers. Certainly don't see how they will manage to take the dosh off everyone on the day!

Me three.........desperately trying to shed a little weight before the ride out as I have a feeling my leathers may be waaaaaay too tight
Looking forward to it, there are lots of hotels in that area if anyone hasnt booked yet, Premier Inns have a pub attached too.....

lol - well - i'm booked in at the travel inn at the supposed start point as are a couple of the girls from another forum - so i intend to try and find where the exitway is and leave the bike as close to that as possible!!!! (Assuming of course Plod haven't put a stop to it yet!!!) certainly think they're going to have to start registration before 10am if they're wanting to leave at 1230!

hmm wouldn't it ... don't think i know anyone in that force but i may know someone who does and she just happens to be a bike cop - i'll see if i can get hold of her. I know someone said that one force were charging for anything that needed escorts and tbh i would think they'd have to put a cap on the numbers anyway - could be interesting.

That beats the biggest ride I've been on of 9 000
I've been watching the progress of this ride and have been put off by the sheer numbers and also it's my birthday and think I'll have to be elsewhere.
I know this can't be compared to the rides through central London, but with these kinda numbers I hope the organisers are getting some advice from the Met.
These days the Met charge for events and have been successful last year in stopping mass rides through the Capital.
I just hope this good cause isn't going to be victim of its own success

Re: help the heroes ride at wootton basset
Hello people, I shall be attending this one and would be nice to meet a few new faces and say hello to old ones; I am not staying over as its only a 250 round trip although all on very boring motorway! I suspect it will be a very emotional day so tissues at the ready!!

right guys there is a meeting between the organizers & the authorities on monday about the ride out
Rumuors have it that the RAF station & the town can,t handle the amout of peaple turning up
& it might be switched to some where nearby that can handle it
but nothing set in stone
until the meeting tomorrow so hold on to your hats
as soon as i or any 1 else knows i will post it on here
