Would you believe it????
So, went for a spin today and stopped up at Sherburn for a cup of tea like you do, met a couple of lads that had thunderaces too, bit of chinwag and a cigar. Sun was shining and a generally good day. Blasted back and stopped at Morrisons to get a paper and parked in the motorcycle section. Went in, picked up a newspaper and came out and this lass has her toddler sitting on my bike reaching over twisting the throttle and making motorbike noises at the top of his voice whilst kicking the sides like a horse! Now I'm quite a mild mannered sort of guy so I went over and totally non threatening as it was a kid said ' Hey miss, that's not on. You can't do that' and she kicked off royally at me! Swearing too in front of this lad! 'What's your fu*king problem you twat, he's only fu*king playing', she was a right scutter! I was in a bit of a shock to be fair and this lady that was walking past stepped in and told her she should be ashamed of herself and shouldn't mess with peoples property and to tone it down as kids are around (I wanted to say it but she beat me to it) and she proptly got told to eff off and how dare she tell her how to take care of her kid! Unbelievable! Then she lit a fag and walked off after giving ME the finger!
Properly spoilt my day! How weird is that!

Re: Would you believe it????
Can't understand her mentality
Unfortunately there are individuals around who shouldn't be allowed to 'care' for children let alone parent them.
Really feel sorry for the kid......hopefully they have a role model other than her. What hope do kids have with role idiots like that
Out of interest if a kid was on it and their 'carer' took a quick picture and then carefully off again what would 'YOU' do.
Don't let it spoil your day....life is too short.
Your bike does have devil eyes.......maybe they are attracting the wrong clientelle?
Cheers

Re: Would you believe it????
Unbelievable - that
I don't accuse the child for sitting on the bike - kids love motorbikes...
But i can't understand the woman and especially her reaction
Congratulations for that

I'd be alright with that to be fair. Kids are kids and they love motorcycles. The kid was about three or four though and was proper booting the side of the bike! It gave me a right shock. The lad was big enough to damage it...

Re: Would you believe it????
Well I'm impressed you managed to stay so calm.... I'd have been there dragging the youngster off, whilst aiming a hearty kick at his retarded 'carer'!!! Some people just have no respect for other people's property.... pity you never knew what transport (if any!) she used to get to the shops.... you could have perhaps had a wee run over the top of it with your bike boots on, and maybe stopped on top to jump up and down a bit, just for good measure - cos after all we're all big kids at heart and you'd just be playing!!!!... grrrrr some people truly make my blood boil!! Sorry .... rant over - woo saaah!
Hope the bike isn't damaged at all.

Like you, I'm pretty mild mannered but I'm not sure I could have kept my head if that had been my bike.

Kick their head in job or no job ....... or follow them back to their car wait til they unlocked it then calmly get in the back seat and take a photo of the inside of it then walk off .............. next question?????????

Re: Would you believe it????
I hope that my alarm would have stopped them.
You have to wonder at the mentality of the 'carer', but TBH it isn't that surprising and there's nothing you can do to reason with these retards as they have no moral compass.

Re: Would you believe it????
Sadly, the world is full of parents and children like that.......the same sort that sit in my consulting room and allow their children to stick their fingers in Sharps Bins and drag dirty dressings out the 'contaminated waste' bin, switch my computer off at the wall and stand kicking the door while Im trying to stay calm, smiley and polite!! Coz the customers always right in the NHS!
FAR sadder is the fact that every Child Protection Register, Child and Adolescent Counselling Service, and Behavoural Therapy Session is full of such kids!!!! But of course..........Its OK, because he'll be the drug dealer/wife beater/TWOCer/benefit claimer of the future!!!
Sorry, Rant over
Ellie !!

Re: Would you believe it????
if they're stood next to it looking, see me coming and ask "can Johny have a sit on it?" then I've all the time in the world for people.
As for this, i'd be scouring the bike for the slightest scratch - then onto the supermarket for the CCTV, etc. to track them down and charge the repairs to them.

Re: Would you believe it????
Hope your alarm is better than mine. Seems to only go off at petrol stations when on ride-outs. When some kind members moved the bike into the garage at TOL for me, the thing kept quiet, so doubt it would oblige under a 'brat attack'weasley wrote:I hope that my alarm would have stopped them.
I think the (filtered) response may be something like I ain't got no money innit, anyway am I bovvered.R2D2 wrote:As for this, i'd be scouring the bike for the slightest scratch - then onto the supermarket for the CCTV, etc. to track them down and charge the repairs to them.
I know this can happen anywhere, but supermarket car parks bring out the worst in people. I had the audacity to point out to a woman she had parked her Chelsea Tractor in the bike parking area (virtually on top of my bike). I had my helmet on and luckily didn't hear all of her response, none of which I thought was suitable for her child - she couldn't be bovvered, or whatever the SE London equivalent of that is!

Re: Would you believe it????
Like R2 - if they ask then it's a different matter but i just don't get the mentality of some people although having been in my job so long nothing really surprises me anymore but some people just don't know how to bring up their kids. When Christopher got ratarsed not long after his 18th and landed up getting taken to hospital by ambulance i went ballistic - more so when i got there and he was 'sleeping it off' in a bed in A&E (they'd tried waking him apparently all i can say is not hard enough) within minutes of getting there i had him woke up - gave him one of the biggest dressing downs in his life and made him go and apologise to the nurses for wasting their time and taking up a bed they thought it was hilarious and on the way out one of them said she wished more parents took it that seriously.

Re: Would you believe it????
I can see the funny side of it now and my mates are having a right laugh at my expense.. But many of you are right that there is a more underlying society problem that this reflects.... Nah, she was just a hideous skank of a woman who really shouldn't breed! Do wonder what the other lady (yeah yeah that 'protected' me from her wrath) thought about the whole thing though. She was proper ready to step in and have a go! Bet she has a teenage daughter and clearly knows how to handle these things better than me....

Re: Would you believe it????
Lol! That's great! There was me thinking that Harrogate was the only town with disrespecting bad mothers! How do these people think? How whacked out do you have to be to think that it is acceptable to do that? Shocking.... But that made my day so thanks for letting me know!
