Re: BC travel
well called CMC to see how the bikes getting on seam like there was water in the float bowl all so a dry plug ? no fuel i heard them talking as he had took the phone in with him also 1 dead spark plug
mmmmm this bike as only just come back from a 36,000 full major service so why a dead plug + dry plug & water in the float bowl
1 did they change the plugs
2 did they not seal the plug caps on
3 check the float bowls
4 make sure the ram air had no leaks seals in place etc
well they have it for another day to the bike as to come back for thursday so i can get it loaded as im on lates 3pm to 11pm ready for friday need to test it to
if not looks like we coming in the tin can which as a big boot & freds shopping sense it could end up expensive

I'd be asking Darren or Mark for a courtsey bike if it's not done Pete? Goodwill gesture for a long standing customer with a recently serviced bike

Re: BC travel
Reason why I won't let dealers near my bike or my wife's car, they simply don't care and more often than not Do a half hearted piss poor job, working to targets mean they miss/don't do a proper job. I'm forced to take my company car to a dealers and have cause complain every time, last time they charged £40 labour to fit a pollen filter (it didn't need) that takes 5 minutes tops and when I checked they'd fitted it upside down.Â
Go on personal recommendation, find a decent back street garage (smaller places do a much better job because they care about you coming back and referrals) or have a go yourself.
My Two penneth anyway, good luck and I hope you get it back and fixed in time.

Re: BC travel
The Darn Sarf Possie meet up times :
I'll meet Alex and AlleyDad at 11 am at the Total garage (just hope I remember where it is   )
The Gloucester meet up point is at the Sainsburys Barnwood Super Store, Barnett Way, Barnwood, GLOUCESTER, GL4 3RT at 14:30, in an ideal world we'll leave there just before 3 and be at the Executive Eco Cabins around 4:30. Need to be (at least I do) at the campsite by 5 to take delivery of our provisions.
Paul, would you mind letting Alex know the times, I'm on the best  mobile network, no roaming in Malawi or Nairobi airport so am not able to txt AlleyCat till I get back home.
Just a reminder to bring your bed linen or a sleeping bag, toiletries and a towel.
If the more Northerly possie arrive before us Southern Softies   please get they keys from Wendy in the campsite office.
Now what's this rain nonsense I've read about? I have a good mind to chuck out my duty free and pack some decent weather   Â
My trip to BC starts around 10 am tomorrow   Have a good trip everyone and see you all on Friday.

Re: BC travel
Pete, you can get a dead plug even after 500 miles. Had one on my car once which I'd only fitted a couple of weeks before.
I don't trust CMC in any case as when I bought my bike from there, the 1st check of the bike was probably just a kick of the tyres and that was it.
The chain was still to tight as I pointed it out to them before I bought it and things wasn't the tightest like the wheel axle nuts which required no effort to undo.
Anyway, we shall be setting off from Worksop at 6:30 on the Saturday morning then it will be a swift ride down for us to be there on time.
So don't leave without us !

okies i'm all sorted now I shall meet you chaps at the gloucester sainsburys meeting point for 2:30.
the bikes been under a cover in the garden for 10 days in the shitty weather as the garage was being used for storing a new bathroom, turned over first time having been sat for a while and took it out this morning before work and felt great, so just doing my last sun dances before packing for tomorrow!

Re: BC travel
I am planning to leave as soon after 3 as I can (if not sooner). I haven't even started packing and I haven't had chance to clean the bike, but at least fluids and tyres are all fine. The sat-nav is programmed and this time, for the first time, I will be trying out some music as I ride, so an old iPhone 4 is charged, full of songs and ready to stream to my Bluetooth headset. Still not sure what to do about wet weather stuff... I have no waterproof boots or gloves. Aah well, it'll all dry out.
Maybe tonight we can raise a glass in honour of D-Day?

A quick heads up from TT Mark & google,
M54 & A5 to Shrewsbury is at a standstill due to a number of serious accidents, alternative route may be an option
