Re: the sun
Was the same in Lincolnshire yesterday evening - now foggy!
Several bikes out as I drove home later than usual; work is such a pain in the ass! So didn't get out.
How was Scarborough?

Re: the sun
Had my best run out on the beast yet did Fridaythorpe/brid/Scarborough/thirsk/Helmsley/york I even got a bit of a shufty on the last bit to york rather than my usual old lady pace and I have to say I was slightly nervous about the jump to a R1 but it is far more capable on the road than my skill level will ever get too what a machine it is.
Iam starting to think ill never get my dream vfr800 now ive spoilt myself with this but anyways looks like bloody work is going to get in the way for the rest of the week for me now roll on Saturday
Cheers

Re: the sun
Now that sounds like a nice run! Not jealous - much!
Good to hear you're getting to grips with the R1. I think the opportunity for more practice is all most of us need/want
You should head down to Goole sometime and do the Crowle road, then it's not that far to the Lincolnshire Wolds.
If you want to meet up sometime let me know (work permitting ).
Cheers,
Chris

Re: the sun
Mine seems to be going through a period of teaching me how to do maintenance more than riding.
On the brightside - look at what i've learnt in Nearly 3Yrs and 39,000miles of biking - Wow, it's been that long already.

Re: the sun
Glad ur getting on well with the R1, wish I could afford a Newer bike.
The Kwikasfookie is now in a Load of Fookin Bitsie. Carbs are playing up so they have been removed and dropping them off to be sorted tomorrow. Likely to be a perished 'I' ring or diaphragm but I have enough bits and can't cope with anymore so let the specialists do it.
I'll get there with her but missing a lot of ride time.

Re: the sun
Ill need another 3 years of breakdowns for me to catch u up on the miles matey. Scrimped and saved for 2 years to get the money together (starting a business in a recession didnt help)but after getting so pissed off not finding the right vfr800 had a moment of madness and just bought it out right but in a way glad I did in another way hope I haven't spoilt myself with such a powerful bike because had a vfr as a hire bike and it felt like a big step backwards.
Re: the sun
Have a VFR when u get old and enjoy the R1 while u have ur youth. Lol

Glad the business is rolling in for you. Know a few people gone self employed and they reckon if they hadn't they could have ended up on the dole. When things are not good with the economy a lot of people/ companies look to the smaller businesses for their needs to keep costs down so I think you did right.
The Performance guys have had a look at the carbs and they are Fooked - worn out which what is causing my issues. So had a look on eBay and theres a set from a bike with 8400miles for £100 notes all in so looks like I will be buying. Shame they are up in Perth, Scotland otherwise I would have gone pick them up so I could have a ride this weekend. May go Fishing instead.
If I can last out 2yrs all should come good for me financially, the bike isn't helping but just don't have funds to go out and buy another one, but at the end of the day I am learning a lot mechanically and it stops me sitting in front of the telly or spending my loot on beer.

Re: the sun
Hi Mark,
Yes, send over some dates when you get the chance and we'll see if we can arrange a meet. Happy to show you some of Lincolnshire; equally happy to head up to E/N Yorks.
I doubt you've spoilt yourself, but I also doubt you'll want to swap the R1 for a VFR for a while! Make this season a 'getting to know you better' season and just enjoy the ride
Hope work isn't too demanding and you manage to put some miles in.
Same sentiment for you John. Hope you get the bike sorted soon and we catch up later on.
Cheers,
Chris

Cheers Chris,
replacement carbs ordered on express delivery so hopefully will now have her back together this weekend. If you don't mind a third tagging along keep me in on the loop with dates and I'll try and make it as well.
