METALLIC RED FAIRING
Evening All
I have a 1999 metallic red cat. There is a big crack underneath the right indicator. Does anyone know where I can get a right hand side lower fairing in metallic red. Want original Yamaha spare not an aftermarket full fairing ?
Thanks for reading

Re: METALLIC RED FAIRING
Hi welcome to the forum we are a friendly bunch really with a passion for most things on wheels. Feel free to take a look around and if you can't see what your are looking for feel free to ask and I'm sure those with more experience than me will be along and answer your questions.
As regarding to your question eBay is your best bet unless you want to do a repair job on it. If you want a new one from mr yamaha you will pay through the odds for it.
Hope you'll find us useful lol

Re: METALLIC RED FAIRING
If you're thinking of replacing the panel, why not have a go at fixing it first? Some plastic weld, a bit of sanding and some paint may get you what you are looking for for a fraction of the cost.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to a posting about the paint and the decal for your VRC7 colour.
I had a go at some plastic welding - the front mudguard broke in a number of pieces after an off. It not aesthetically pleasing, but a sand and it it's OK.. Used a soldering iron and cable ties as the 'solder'.

Click on the DIY.. link above and see the pic on Flickr, there are two other pics whilst I was still putting it together - there isn't an after pic, yet!
I wouldn't recommend the touch up kit - well maybe I'm rubbish at using it, but just couldn't get the colour right.

Re: METALLIC RED FAIRING
Have a look on ebay for plastic repair two pack resin and strenghthen the repair by bonding some plaster board tape in the resin as well. If you were closer i'd do it for you but Vivid Red Cocktail 2 is a bugger to paint as its a 3 stage pearl i.e ground coat colur coat then laquer.
