Re: primes thundercat.
Bloody hell I'll not miss that when it blasts past me on Broadway, lovely looking cat there Prime and apart from the can (which is pretty sweet but I'm biased because mine was colour coded too) it looks pretty much original (and as Mr Yamaha intended), really nice bike.
When do you pick her up?

I'm with Tel there, that's a bit too stunning to mess about with Prime

Re: primes thundercat.
Looks super clean, loving all the shine!!
Would it be inappropriate of me to ask what you paid for it and what year it is? Or at least what was the dealer asking for it?
Ill be selling mine in a few months and I have the option to put it in a dealers showroom if I want so I'm trying to get an idea of what people are paying!

Re: primes thundercat.
When I traded my 02 in last October the dealer put it up for sale at £1500 and it sold within a day. That was in pretty good condition with a few extras on it but time of the year was against it.
It depends on the year but I reckon a mint condition one (say 2002 model) sold in the spring would fetch close to £2000 but this time of year probably £1400-£1500 is more realistic. It's a bit subjective though as Thundercats have always been a bit of a marmite bike (love em or hate em) so it's more dependant on what an enthusiast is prepared to pay.
Best bet as a starting point is to have a look on eBay and filter your results to see ended auctions only. This will tell what they are actually going for but more importantly which ones haven't sold because they were probably asking too much.

Re: primes thundercat.
Well around 2000 is what I would be wanting ideally I think...
It is a 2002, but its had so much work done when its all back together I'm confident you wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a new bike...
Ill give it till the end of march I think before I start looking into sellin it but like I say I could put it in a showroom and possibly ask closer to 2500 for it, but it could potentially be there until next year!

Re: primes thundercat.
i paid a ridiculous sum of £2500. i know i could have got one a lot cheaper but none of the others caught my eye as much. its the lowest milage one i found only 7500. and as snowcat said, i might be the only sucker to value it that highly

Re: primes thundercat.
Not at all Prime, the true value lies with the buyer alone, doesn't matter what you pay for it, it's what it's worth to you. I still wish I'd kept mine because I think they will become a bit of a future classic.
Looking at the condition I think you've done well there, I've seen less tidy ones advertised privately for £3k. Can't wait to see it in the flesh!!

Re: primes thundercat.
^ what he said... It's not what you paid its what its worth to you... I'd be more than happy to pay a ridiculous amount for one if it ticked every box!

Re: primes thundercat.
Yours looks amazing mate, youve done a great job. I can see myself going down the same road. Short levers here, illumiglow dials there. This is going to be an expensive hobby.
My first bike was a suzuki 125 intruder with chrome pipes and other shiny bits and enjoyed time polishing her. I just dig chrome and highly polished metal on bikes and cars. A chrome spitfire would be the coolest thing EVER though.

short levers, hid light and rear led and braided lines are the 4 best mods ive made, aside from the millions of hours worth of paint!
