Re: oxford heated grips
Decided that the best option is to rip them of and just buy some heated gloves as they have been nothing but hassle + ive been given some normal grips for free that were in a local bike shop. http://www.mooks-parts.co.uk

Re: oxford heated grips
Cheers dude, I have some electrical cleaner kicking about the garage Ill give that a go.
Although I have seen that on some other forums some people have had the same issue as me and it was a fault with the controller for that model.

Re: oxford heated grips
SteveCat had some issues with heated grips too, you might wanna look up his thread and see what his solution was
Re: oxford heated grips
I had the 'digital'/electronic controller. It wasn't Oxford branded, although I think they supplied them to Hein Gericke. My problem was the HG controller died twice, eventually swopped it for a hi/lo push button controller - just some switches and no electronics; no problems since.

Re: oxford heated grips
Thats an auction so could go for more? I just need the controller though, as the grips work its just stuck on 30%
It makes sense if the whole lot was cheaper, does this controller go round the handle bars?
As there is not much space on the Cat to fit this? My current controller is stuck to the top of the fork centre plate.

Re: oxford heated grips
The controller was stuck on the yoke on my first 'cat, the second time around I used the supplied bracket .. pic If you scroll up from that pic you should see where I had it on the first 'cat.thundercatf wrote:

I know the controller isn't exactly the same, but is the same size.
My controller was exchanged under warranty, so sorry that won't be of any help to you - I don't even think they sell

Re: oxford heated grips
Had the same problem, replaced the controller and all was well. Stripped the controller apart and found a dry joint, repaired that and fitted to the wife's bike and it has worked for the last 3 years.

Re: oxford heated grips
ive taken a look through my spares cupboard and couldnt find it sorry must have been thrown when i was tidying up lasttime sorry.. ive bought heated gloves now and find them much better than grips as your whole hand stays warm. each to there own but i think they will last longer but only time will tell.
