Motorcycle Plate

i am looking for new plate couse that one i have look shit.
very old.
is any of you make them?

Go to a place like Halfords, you will need some form of ID as well as your V5 paper. Think it costs £15 or £16.

Plenty of places online too.
Just make sure the are uk road legal or you may end up having to buy another one if stopped.

how do i know they are legal ?

If the website explicitly says road legal or explicitly says exhibition / off road use only then you'll know one way or the other.

Folks have put and still have not quite road legal plates on their bikes but if caught you'll need to buy / change it again.

At best you risk a telling off and forced to get it changed (I think)
At worst your looking at a fine and forced to get it changed (I think - points on your license sounds a bit extreme to me)

Usefull for number plate regulations.

Most people think its "cool" to have the tiny ones with really small letters that can barely be read, these are illegal and will get you 3 points if the police are in an arsey mood!!

Best off steering clear of online unless, like Rosco it explicitly says road legal. Basically it IS law that you must produce proof of ownership to buy a plate which most online don't ask for so stick to your local motor factor like Halfords etc

A trailer place may not have the plates and letters in motorcycle size though; not much call for bike trailer plates!

I got mine for both bikes at Halfords. I got a GB-badged one for the Cat to stay Euro-legal when abroad.

I got mine from eBay and its fine.

I have a slightly bigger one for MOT time.

Mines not legal, but personalised. Reg size not changed but info on the bottom.

Will post photo tomorrow for Tom.

BTW it passed last years MOT.

My local motor parts shop has made me up a couple with the blue GB bit on them for going abroad. The last one cost £8.50, so if Halfrauds are charging £16 they are living up to their name.

When my brother, who currently lives in the Irish Republic, went to re-register a bike I took over for him, we went to a small dealer to get a plate made up. What we got was a blank plate and a set of stick-on numbers, and no faffing around with your granny's birth certificate or whatever it is they ask for here. I was really impressed with the people in the local tax ofice in Cork as well - couldn't have been more helpful, filled in the form for him and everything. 'Tis a lovely place, shame the roads are in such a state!

My local Yam dealership did me one for a tenner (including putting it on for me) when some moron dude crashed into the back of me when I was stopped at a junction. "Sorry I was talking to my nipper & I thought you'd pulled away" :/

Was given a spare when I bought the bike with a reflector attached, put this on for MoT. Haven't changed it back yet though.

Halfords or local dealer is possibly your easiest route.

Cover that with your reflector, just be the cost of double sided tape - assuming you have one of those dirty great big Red reflectors on the right hand side of the plate.

Take your registration documents to Halfords and buy one then Simples
