Mac Jock's new colour scheme
New fairings from China painted in your choice of colours - so I went for the classic GP scheme.
I'm pretty chuffed

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
Beautiful looking in Yamaha Corp' race colour speed block scheme. I'd be well chuffed with it too.
Wish Yamaha would let Lorenzo & Spies race in those colours, . . . far better than the current Blue/Black they run in at the moment.

Hi Mac Jock.
Looking very nice.
Interested to know about the quality - how do they compare to the originals?
Finally - where did you get em and how much?
Cheers

I'm interested to know these things too, is it one of the full kits like I've seen on ebay where there appears to be some sort of tank cover included?

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
It is a full kit (the tank cover is painted ABS) but I didn't get it from EBay. I used a company called Motorfair who will do a custom paint job at no extra cost.
Fit wise, I had to do a bit of sanding to fit and a little bit of squashing into place but nothing too tough. The finish is pretty good - once the paints hardened a bit more I'll give it a few coats of a good wax.
These aren't OEM, you can tell that when you close to the bike and others may be more particular about their bike than me. For me the only complaint I could have is that there's a bit of a gap between the fairing and where the air duct cover sits - that's about it.
All in, including postage I paid around the £350 and it took about 28 days from order to delivery.
Rosco, got an MOT at Ride On booked for Midday Saturday & providing that goes well should be able to meet up if you want to see them in the flesh

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
OK, sounds interesting, I'm just wondering how the tank cover is fitted/fixed, does it look like there's a shell on the outside of the tank or does it look neat and tidy?
Cheers

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
You can tell it's a shell - I'm going to look for another tank over the winter and have it painted up properly. The hole for the fuel cap doesn't line up that well and you have the thickness issue.
It's supposed to be held onto the tank by a lip at the front and the seat catch at the rear BUT it will split before the front lip engages and it's too thick for the seat to side into place so I've opted for a bit of cutting and sanding plus a whole heap of "no more nails" to make sure it doesn't slip mid corner. That said it's such a tight fit I probably didn't need the adhesive but better safe than sorry

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
Hi Mac Jock
I've only just noticed the invite to see the bike in the flesh. (6 months later ..... sorry)
That would be cool.
I'll post up when I'm out and about. Wee Mac and Big Mick aren't too far away from you if you fancy.
Cheers

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
Yup - that would be great. I'm still really a newbie on a bike - being co-located for work means I can't just pop out after work during summer.

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
Only thing I would say is be careful what you ask for as they will make a straight copy - mine have M1 YZF decals on the front which I never noticed on the factory bikes until after mine were delivered

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
I've just ordered a set of these myself, I looked at the company you ordered yours from but they don't seem to be available anymore so I'm using Ebay (worried) lol, If mine looks as good as yours does I'll be happy..

Re: Mac Jock's new colour scheme
i can paint you a single seat converter to match if you have a little cash left over? i have a spare kicking around in the workshop but its maroon at the minute...
would just need a good idea of what colours they've used but im guessing they're just flat colours so should be fairly straight forward!

lols.... just a proud owner, any excuse!
obviously that was just to demonstrate the seat cowl!
but i have to say... its most certainly not a kit, its the real deal, genuine yamaha parts all the way, apart from the seat cowl of course!....
